Frequently Asked Questions

What time will my order be delivered?


All orders placed during normal operating hours are delivered within 3 hours.* We are open 7 days (9am-5pm). The cutoff time for same-day delivery is 4:30pm. If you need your order same-day, please be sure to let us know in the "preferred date/time" section at checkout. You can also schedule a delivery for a future date. *Please note there may be delayed delivery times during peak traffic hours and major holidays.




How much does delivery cost?


Delivery is free to orders placed within the South Bay. Orders placed outside of the South Bay are subject to a delivery fee. Customers are eligible for free delivery with a cart totaling over $100. Tips can be given to our drivers in person or sent through Venmo @southbaypropane* *Gratuity for our drivers is greatly appreciated but not required.




What is the difference between a tank exchange and a new pre-filled tank?


We offer 2 tank options: tank exchange and new pre-filled tank. Tank exchange is for customers who already own a tank and want to swap theirs out for a full tank. New pre-filled tank is for customers who either don't already have a tank or are simply purchasing an extra spare tank. *Both options come pre-filled with propane gas.




Where do I leave my tanks?


You can leave your tanks anywhere in a safe, accessible location such as: on your front porch, near the back gate, etc. At checkout you will see a section titled "instructions for delivery". There, you can add any special instructions such as: gate codes, requests, and any additional information. If you are expecting a same -day delivery we recommend leaving your tanks outside immediately after placing your order; this will ensure we don't miss you.




Why do only South Bay customers get free delivery?


We currently only offer free delivery to South Bay customers because we are still in the process of expanding. However, neighboring cities are all eligible for free delivery on all orders totaling more than $100. We are working hard to soon offer free delivery to all neighboring cities.




I have a Blue Rhino tank I'd like to exchange, do you guys accept other brands?


Yes, we gladly exchange any brand of tanks in any condition.




My tank says 15lb, but on the site I only see 20lb. Are those the same thing?


Yes, 15lb tanks and 20lb tanks are the same thing. 15lbs refers to the weight of the propane gas and 20lbs refers to the weight of the actual propane cylinder. If you have any further questions, please email us or give us a call and we will be happy to assist you.




Where do you currently deliver?


We currently deliver to the following areas: -South Bay Cities -Beverly Hills -Culver City -Los Angeles -Marina/Playa del Rey/Playa Vista -Mid-City -North Hollywood -Westchester -West Hollywood If you don't see your area and would like our service, please let us know. We are always open to expanding!




I would like to tip the driver, how can I do this?


We offer two options for tipping our drivers: 1. Cash (You can leave it with your order or hand it to them) 2. Venmo (You can send it to them @southbaypropane with your order number included) Tipping is not required but it is very much appreciated.
